About
Mira Nameth, Creative Director, Illustrator, and Fashion Designer, works and lives in New York with her husband Jordan Berkowitz. She was brought up in Stockholm, Sweden, but spent every summer at the countryside. At 25, she moved to London, before finally settling in New York. Mira’s list of clients includes Coca-Cola, American Express, Absolut Vodka, Brizo, IKEA, Random House, Clinique, Starbucks, Vertu, Opodo, Dior, Martin&Osa, Warchild, and Comcast.
In her illustrations, she mixes strong contrasts with softer shapes, figurative imagery with more abstract organic forms and plays with different levels in nature while incorporating fantastical and imaginary elements. Her inspiration comes primarily from nature but also from people and Asian art.
Mira Nameth talks more about her work and point of view in a Taxi interview:
“I call it florafauna sometimes, the combination of plants and animal elements.
I like both light, minimal, yet visually interesting drawings, as well as more dense scenes. Sometimes it’s about taking a simpler element out of a more complex scene, and looking at what is interesting with that particular element.
My main aim is to keep [my work] imaginative, authentic and distinctive.”
